GVL Laser
The first and only FDA-cleared green wavelength laser — the world's most energetic laser
Overview
About the GVL Laser
The GVL is the newest addition to Erchonia's cold laser range and the first and only green wavelength laser to receive FDA clearance. It was shown to be the most effective wavelength combination for increasing range of motion and decreasing pain in a single session. Unique to the green wavelength is the ability to affect complex 3 in the electron transport chain.
- First and only FDA-cleared green wavelength laser
- Only wavelength shown to affect complex 3 of the electron transport chain
- Cord-free, smartphone-sized handheld — under 1 lb
- Most effective wavelength combination for ROM increase and pain decrease in a single session
Typical applications
- Minor chronic neck and shoulder pain of musculoskeletal origin
- Moderate inflammatory Acne Vulgaris (violet diode)
- Dermatological conditions
- Range-of-motion and functional neurology protocols

Product description
What the device does
The GVL brings the latest advancement in laser technology to clinical practice through rigorous clinical research and engineering. In trials it was shown to be the most effective wavelength combination for the increase of range of motion and decrease in pain in a single session.
Unique to the green wavelength is the ability to affect complex 3 in the electron transport chain. No other wavelength can impact this complex, and it is critical for moving to complex 4 to produce ATP.
The 'smartphone' size of the cord-free GVL allows for easy portability between rooms and clinics, and enables staff to spend less time setting up equipment before each session. The intuitive touchscreen interface makes it usable without extensive training.
Mechanism
How it works
Erchonia uses low-level lasers in the visible light spectrum. The primary mechanism for absorption of visible light photons is the elevation of electrons to higher energy levels — molecular excitement. In that excited state, chemical reactions occur: photons push an electron to a higher energy level where it can be picked up by an electron acceptor. The electron transport chain (ETC) uses those high-energy electrons to convert ADP into ATP, and the ETC is the primary source of ATP production in the body.
FDA indications for use
Clearance K221987
- a.While using the green and violet diode simultaneously, for adjunctive use in providing temporary relief of minor chronic neck and shoulder pain of musculoskeletal origin.
- b.While using the violet diode, to treat dermatological conditions, and specifically indicated to treat moderate inflammatory Acne Vulgaris.
Device intended for medical professionals. Prescription use (21 CFR 801 Subpart D). Individual results may vary.
